Done! Section 3: Kinesiology Tape Application

Just like in the Japanese blog I shared before, if you go to a long sports event, like a marathon, or you travel long hours, like I did. Then the tape can be connected to your skin a lot.

In my case, I was not sweating, like what would happen during running. So the tape was very strong, end water did not move it easily.

You can try oils or special alcohol prepared for this kind of tape.

Some of the sticky parts stayed for a few days, so I had to reclean them again and again.

Take your time, don't get excited, and do not hurt your skin by too much scrubbing.

Healing is more important than being super perfect.

Kinesiology tape isThe basic technique is to gently press down on the skin and slowly peel it off in the direction of hair growth, "folding the skin back."Therefore, when your skin is warm, such as during a bath, peeling the hair off from the side closest to your body, following the direction of hair growth, will minimize stress and pain on your skin.
Painless! Tips for the correct way to remove it
  1. Remove during or after bathing.
    • This is the easiest time to remove the tape because it gets wet and the skin warms up, weakening its adhesive properties.
  2. Secure the skin and "fold it back."
    • When removing the tape, hold (pull) the skin with your other hand and, instead of "peeling" the tape off the skin, "fold" the tape back parallel to the skin to remove it.
  3. Follow the direction of hair growth
    • Gently peel the hair away from your heart, working in the direction of hair growth, from top to bottom, or from the side closest to your heart to the side furthest from your heart.
  4. If there is stickiness or strong adhesion
    • Applying baby oil, olive oil, or a special "tape remover spray" to the adhesive surface will allow it to peel off smoothly.
Points to note and things to avoid
  • Never peel it off forcefully : This can strip away the stratum corneum of the skin, causing rashes and inflammation.
  • Warm it with a hairdryer (if it's dry) : Rather than trying to peel it off when it's dry, warming it slightly with warm air will soften the adhesive.
  • Dealing with leftover adhesive : After removing the tape, gently wipe away any remaining adhesive with a cotton ball or damp towel soaked in alcohol.
